We know a lot of our guests will have to travel to come to our wedding, and we wanted to make it someplace where they could make a vacation out of the trip too!

Do I have to stay at one of these hotels?

No, you may stay wherever you like! However, the most convenient hotels will be the Grand Floridian and Contemporary Resorts.  We can only get the discounted rates for these pre-selected Disney hotels. If you wish to stay at another Disney hotel, feel free, but please tell them that you are with our wedding party so that we can keep track of where our guests are staying!

When should I make my reservations?

Please make your reservations as soon as possible as we are only able to hold the discounted rates and room blocks for a limited time.  After the deadline, rates and availability are subject to change based on the hotel's availability.

What if I want to go to the Parks?

Disney offers discounted park tickets to our wedding guests.  Visit this website to purchase discounted tickets : Buy your tickets!

There are park-hopper type tickets and packages available to wedding guests. Once you figure out how long you would like to stay and what you would like to do while you're there, just figure out what works best for your needs. If you change your mind when you get there, you can always buy tickets (at normal prices) at all the parks and hotels.

Please remember  - you do not need a park ticket to come to the wedding and reception!

How do I get there?

If you are from out of town, the easiest way is to fly into Orlando International Airport (Airport Code:MCO).  Nearly all major carriers fly to Orlando. From there, if your staying at one of the Disney hotels, Disney will provide complimentary bus transportation from the airport to your hotel.  You can also rent a car, or use a transportation service to get to Disney. If you are staying on Disney property, you will have full use of their transportation services (monorail, bus, ferry boats, etc.) while onsite.

Some helpful sites for making travel plans:

Transportation Services:

Driving Directions:

  • Bing Maps- just type in Disney World as your destination. Don't forget - SR 528 and SR 417 (two of the major routes to Disney) are toll roads, so bring some quarters!!

Just remember, there is transportation from all the parks to each of the Disney hotels, but not from hotel to hotel. There is a monorail stop and bus stop at the Grand Floridian, both which are within walking distance of the Wedding Pavilion. There are no bus stops at the Wedding Pavilion, but there is plenty of parking at both the pavilion and the Grand Floridian.

Why should I stay on Disney Property?

These are just a few of the reasons you should consider staying in one of the Disney owned hotels:

  • Legendary service, and attention to detail are part of your entire stay.
  • Disney Guest Service Cast Members handle all your reservations.
  • Enjoy charge privileges on-property and convenient room delivery of your packages.
  • Early Entrance to Disney Theme Parks
  • Get a jump on the fun with selected attractions in a different Theme Park opening early each day.
  • A Disney Midday Break - Head back to your Resort for a nap or a swim, then return to the Parks later in the day!
  • Services for Children - Parents can take a break, thanks to unique child entertainment centers, in-room babysitting, learning programs, and dinner clubs (nominal fee for services; subject to availability).
  • Complimentary Disney Transportation Travel by complimentary bus, boat, or monorail throughout the Walt Disney World Resort.

What is there to do around Orlando?

Well, besides the four Disney parks (Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney-Hollywood Studios, and the Animal Kingdom), the Disney water parks (Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon), Downtown Disney and Cirque du Soleil.  There is a lot to do in Orlando!! There is Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure, Sea World. For nightlife, there’s Universal’s CityWalk, and Church Street Station. There are a few outlet mall shopping areas around Orlando. Kennedy Space Center and Cocoa Beach is approximately 1 hour away on Florida's east coast. Tampa is approximately an hour west of Disney as well.

Do I need to buy a ticket to the park to attend the wedding?

No, you do not need a ticket to the parks to come to the wedding. The wedding pavilion and reception are in the resort area, not inside the parks.

What will the weather be like in May?

Hopefully warm and sunny! The average May temperature is High 88°-Low 66° degrees. The temperature will probably be warm during the day, but you may want a light jacket for the evenings - but Florida weather can be unpredictable. Check the Weather for the latest forecasts.
